Studio

Arkos Architects is a small design focussed studio based in the Sunshine Coast hinterland town of Pomona, Queensland. We specialise in all scales of residential architecture.

Our design philosophy is a simple formula of
(people + place) = architecture.

We believe in timeless & functional design foundations, which are then embellished to suit the individual and the site. We pride ourselves in being approachable and practical architects and like to challenge some of the stereotypes you hear about architects & architecture.

Arkos Architects was founded in 2024 by director Oskar Booth, following a 9-year tenure as an associate at the award-winning Tim Ditchfield Architects. Oskar has a diverse range of experience across a wide variety of project types; however, his passion is delivering outstanding residential architecture tailor made to exceed your expectations.

What clients say

We first met Oskar when we asked him to design a family beach house on an unusually shaped block occupied by an old home. Oskar came back with a design that we could never have envisaged. He saw possibilities in the site that we certainly didn’t, and he transformed its challenges into strengths. His sensitivity to the environment is evident throughout the home: it captures all the available light and breezes — essential in the hot, humid Queensland summers — yet remains easy to warm in winter. The building itself is striking, and its night time lighting gives it a dramatic and beautiful presence.

Throughout the project, nothing was ever too much trouble for Oskar. He brought firm ideas of his own, but he also listened attentively to our needs and wishes and incorporated them seamlessly into the final design.

We are immensely grateful for Oskar’s vision, skill, and care. Our beach house is everything we had hoped for and much more

Our architectural journey with Oskar was nothing but pleasant, insightful and rewarding. His ability to listen, truely get to know his clients needs and deliver outstanding ideas and designs was extraordinary. Oskar is calm and measured and his attention to detail is second to none. His ability to present high end plans and detailed finishes was always appreciated and on point. Oskar built up a fabulous rapport and working relationship with everyone onsite throughout the duration of the build. At no stage whatsoever during our 3 year journey with Oskar were we ever unhappy or disappointed. Without Oskar’s ideas and guidance and diligence, we would not have the home we have today. Living here brings us immense joy every day.
