Corymbia
PEREGIAN BEACH | QLD
Oskar was the principle project architect on the award-winning Corymbia whilst at Tim Ditchfield Architects.
Corymbia is a thoughtfully designed beachside retreat that reinterprets the timeless vernacular of regional Australian coastal homes. Created for multi-generational gatherings and quiet rejuvenation, it embraces an unfussy elegance—functional, playful, and joyfully simple. D
eeply rooted in its landscape, the home celebrates the textures and ecology of the dunes, coastal heath, and Wallum Country. At its heart, a north-facing courtyard forms the communal hub, flanked by two wings linked by a breezeway beneath a unifying roof, maintaining a seamless connection to the outdoors. Prioritising people over cars, the design replaces conventional garages with a timber sleeper driveway reminiscent of K’gari’s sandy tracks. Corymbia ultimately stands as a sensitive expression of coastal architecture—authentic, enduring, and deeply of its place.
